Knology

My first experience with Knology is already off to a bad start.

I called them on Aug 28th and had an internet installation scheduled for today, Sept 2nd between 4-6pm. I took off work a little early so that I could be present when they came, only to wait past 6pm when I received an automated phone call from them to confirm my installation appointment for the 4th. WHAT?!?

I called customer service to question the rescheduled appointment and their answer was that I failed to confirm my Sept 2nd appointment when they called to confirm on the 30th. Again, WHAT?!? Apparently I missed that call, and typically not recognizing the number I didn't call back since no voice mail was left. I can understand that mishap, but what I can't comprehend is why they waited THREE WHOLE DAYS to call again with the automated voice thing although I had already made the call! From what I can recall with Charter, they never called to confirm my appointment that I called in myself.

Oh well, I suppose stealing internet from my neighbor will resume until then.

UPDATE

Evidently Knology keeps tabs of what is being said about their brand on the interwebs. A few days after the little rant, I received a letter from the Knology office apologizing after being "informed" about my inconveniences and their lack of communication. Given that I didn't submit a formal complaint, I was a bit caught off guard that they sent the letter so quickly and that they credited my first bill $20. For that, I grant them two kudos points.
